Alicia McKelvey, MD

Dr. Alicia McKelvey has been a pioneer in the field of Thoracic surgery, and has trained a new generation of surgeons. From her decades of service, Dr. McKelvey has a unique vantage point in seeing the limitations of traditional medicine. Her journey into Integrative Medicine was born our of a desire to bridge this gap for patients. She now applies the same level of expertise and enthusiasm to help you achieve YOUR health goals.
Dr. McKelvey is board certified (ABOIM) in Integrative Medicine. She attended the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM), based in San Diego, California. Her medical degree was obtained from the Virginia Commonwealth School of Medicine in 1995. With the goal of becoming a General thoracic surgeon, Dr. McKelvey first completed a residency in general surgery at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT, in 2001. Her cardiothoracic training took place at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. (2001-2003), The Cleveland Clinic, in Ohio (2004-2004), and at The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, in Pennsylvania (2005). Dr. McKelvey received a Masters in Anatomy at the University of Maryland, after matriculating at Loyola University, in Maryland (1988), where she studied Biology with a concentration in English Literature.
